What better way to say goodbye to the holiday season than with one last glimpse of Christmas? We were recently contacted by ICMP, the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance based in London. ICMP have been developing and delivering contemporary music training and education for over 30 years, with a focus on the needs and potential of each individual student. This means that the music education that they provide is tailored and personalised to give students the best possible chance of success in an incredibly competitive and challenging environment.
Originally founded in 1986, ICMP was initially known as The Guitar Institute and Basstech, but soon expanded their course range to include vocals, drums and other instruments alongside songwriting and music business and production. The key to their education lies in their small class sizes (capped at 15) and high contact hours, allowing for greater access to key advice and guidance.
ICMP graduates have gone on to perform alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Lizzo, Stormzy, Olly Murs, Radiohead, and The Vaccines. The success of their graduates is not only down to their teaching philosophies, but also due to their connections within the global music industry and their geographical position within this midst of London’s music scene.
